VISION
Draft Framework Plan
The draft framework balances open space and active park activities. Visitors can immerse themselves in nature extending through the park, with observation points and nature-based play. Higher-energy areas of the park include spaces for traditional organized sports, alternative sports, and an aquatic experience.
A meandering creek bed through the middle will manage stormwater while creating visual interest, education, and opportunities for ecological enhancement. Park corners are more active, with a field house, destination playground, and outdoor adventure areas near Colorado Blvd and 40th Ave. Ample athletic fields and sports courts along Colorado Blvd provide places to play various sports.
A cultural hub for community gathering is envisioned around the existing clubhouse. Amenities such as restrooms, picnic pavilions, and observation structures are located throughout the park. The entire site is connected by a wide, multi-use park loop and pathway system for easy access throughout.
WOW! When will all this be built? What’s a draft framework?
This drawing is a big picture vision for what the park could look like based on community input. Right now, there is not confirmed funding for everything you see here. Your input today and the park’s needs will inform the strategy for how to phase and budget this project!

VISION + ABOUT
A Once in a Century Park
The City and County of Denver’s Parks & Recreation (DPR) Department will work closely with the community to convert a former golf course into a 155-acre public park in the heart of the city. The site, which operated as a private golf course from the 1930s until 2018, will be ecologically restored and redesigned as the largest addition to Denver’s park system in more than a century.
Park Hill Park is now open to the community as a public park! In a historic deal, the City of Denver made its largest ever single acquisition of private property to become an urban park with the purchase of Park Hill Golf Course. Denver Parks and Recreation will oversee the 155-acre open space which will be open for public enjoyment during daylight hours. The public is welcome to come and experience the space while plans for Phase 1 Implementation of the Framework Plan take shape. Park Hill Park now stands as the city's fourth largest open space -- providing a vtial new resources in an area long underserved by premier parks and greenways.
